The Carbon Tax

Having killed off or driven offshore every other kind of economic activity in Australia the successive Governments have run out of things to tax and are now proposing to tax fresh air destroying the economic advantage Australia has over every other country

Particularly as the reasons given for introducing such a tax ie rise and fall of sea levels that have been apparent since the beginning of time and are caused by terrestrial and extra terrestrial events ( not aliens Julia) such as the elliptical rotation of and orbit of the earth around the sun over thousands of years ( please see Milankovitch Cycle below) Milankovitch Cycle and astronomical sun spots

Milankovitch Cycle

The Milankovitch Theory describes the collective effects of changes in the Earth's movements upon its climate, named after Serbian civil engineer and mathematician Milutin Milankovi�, who worked on it during First World War internment. Milankovi� mathematically theorised that variations in eccentricity, axial tilt, and precession of the Earth's orbit determined climatic patterns on Earth.

The Earth's axis completes one full cycle of precession approximately every 26,000 years. At the same time the elliptical orbit rotates more slowly. The combined effect of the two precessions leads to a 21,000-year period between the seasons and the orbit. In addition, the angle between Earth's rotational axis and the normal to the plane of its orbit (obliquity) oscillates between 22.1 and 24.5 degrees on a 41,000-year cycle. It is currently 23.44 degrees and decreasing.

Prehistoric evidence

Studies of stratigraphic data suggested that the solar cycles have been active for hundreds of millions of years, if not longer; measuring varves in precambrian sedimentary rock has revealed repeating peaks in layer thickness, at roughly eleven-year intervals. It is possible that the early atmosphere on earth was more sensitive to changes in solar radiation than today, so that greater glacial melting (and thicker sediment deposits) occurred during years with greater sunspot activity.[9] [10]

Analysis of tree rings has revealed a detailed picture of past solar cycles: Dendrochronologically-dated radiocarbon concentrations have allowed for a reconstruction of sunspot activity dating back 11,400 years, far beyond the four centuries of available, reliable records from direct solar observation.[4]
